Sydney time changes with the Australian season
Sydney uses Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10) and Australian Eastern Daylight Time (UTC+11). Its daylight-saving season runs through the southern summer, spanning the end and beginning of calendar years. January and July therefore use different offsets.
There is no single Australian clock: Queensland does not observe daylight saving, while New South Wales does. Auckland starts its daylight-saving season before Sydney, so their difference can change between the September and October transition weekends. Use a specific city and date for each participant.
