Eastern Time is not always EST
New York uses Eastern Standard Time (UTC−5) in winter and Eastern Daylight Time (UTC−4) during daylight saving. For an invitation that spans the year, use Eastern Time or the America/New_York zone rather than treating EST as a year-round label.
London and New York change their clocks on different weekends. Their usual five-hour difference briefly becomes four hours around those transitions. Enter the actual meeting date in TimeTravel before confirming a recurring transatlantic call.
Upcoming clock changes in New York
- Clocks move back 60 minutes: 02:00 → 01:00.UTC−4 → UTC−5 · 06:00 UTC
- Clocks move forward 60 minutes: 02:00 → 03:00.UTC−5 → UTC−4 · 07:00 UTC
Moving forward skips local times; moving back repeats them. For a time within the repeated hour, TimeTravel lets you select the earlier or later occurrence.
